These online programmes include fitness sessions, skill based football sessions, Weigh to Go wellbeing sessions, shoot for success employability programme, online coffee mornings, quizzes and continued professional development for AUFA staff and volunteers.

Community Programmes Manager Shaun Ferrie said “Times are tough for obvious reasons.

“As an Academy we are going through these tough times like everyone else but want to stay positive, strong and encourage people to stay safe and look after themselves.

“If they can do that through one of our programmes then fantastic.

“Two main areas the Academy have a lot of experience in is physical health and mental health, both topics are important and we know the benefits of keeping active.

“Our message is, if anyone is struggling get in touch or try some of our online activity through our social media pages. We are active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

“I’m taking part in the virtual tour and I have never cycled or walked as much in my life and can honestly say it has been fantastic not only for me but my family as well.

“It’s something to do, regular exercise, good for our mental health, sends out positivity, good for the gut and makes you feel part of a community.

“Please stay safe and take care of yourself and others.”
