SNP - SIOBHIAN BROWN
This week’s election is crucial.
The past year has been difficult for everyone but as we start to emerge from the COVID crisis, we have an opportunity to reflect on the shape of the Scotland we want to rebuild and the life chances we create now and for future generations.
Even before the pandemic, Brexit had brought Scotland to a crossroads, facing two possible futures.
One path leads to more austerity, imposed by a Westminster Government that has forced through a disastrous trade deal with Europe at the height of the pandemic, all but crippling Scotland’s world class food and drinks industries.
To protect his shoddy deal,
Boris Johnson is stealing powers away from the Scottish Parliament: I believe he and his Scottish Conservative helpers intend to destroy devolution completely.
Recent events have surely demonstrate beyond doubt that he is not a fit person to lead our Covid recovery or to entrust with shaping Scotland’s future.
But we can choose a different path – one where Scotland’s people have the chance to determine their own future.
The SNP has a bold, ambitious plan to rebuild a better, healthier, fairer and more prosperous Scotland.
Under Nicola Sturgeon’s safe and experienced leadership, we will not seek an independence referendum during the pandemic.
But I am clear that the success of the recovery requires us to have all the powers of independence at our disposal.
As your MSP, I’ll work tirelessly, to make our constituency an even better place to live, work and visit.
