Ayrshire stars of The Voice have helped celebrate the first year of a community radio station in style.

Tsukure Hub were joined by a host of talents - including this year’s semi-finalist Jeremy Levif from Prestwick and The Voice kids hit performer Blair Gilmour from Irvine - as they toasted their first anniversary.

The popular singers joined a mix of live act and DJs combined on Saturday, May 29.

A stunning light show also featured at the bash, as lasers and strobe lights were used to add colour to the night slots.

DJ Public Domain also made a special guest appearance.

Radio manager Scott O’Hare helped set up the party and starstudded line-up.

The hub on Ayr High Street first set up the radio station last year using tech bought in a Cash Converters shop.

A year on, and the hub boasts equipment worth thousands of pounds and also features performing and recording space for artists.

Thrilled boss Adam Short hailed the incredible progress made in the first year of radio at the community enterprise which also features a cafe, a children’s charity and meeting spaces.

Adam declared: “We’ve come a long way.

“We started off with a second hand amp and speakers from Cash Converters.

“Now we have a £4500 PA system. It is outstanding to see how far we have come in a year and that is a credit to the whole team.”

The hub showcased their impressive sound system, with a the various gigs inside the venue drawing attention from passersby outside. The whole day was steamed live online for eager fans to tune in. Adam hopes next year can be even bigger for the radio station as they gear up to get an FM licence, with more funding and volunteers required.

It is outstanding to see how far we have come in a year and that is a credit to the whole team.”
