Bingo firm aims for full house with £3m Ayrshire investment

-

Forty jobs are to be created with the opening of a glitzy new bingo hall in Kilmarnock.

A £3 million investment will revive the former Buzz Bingo hall in the town centre.

The iconic venue shut its doors last July when owners admitted they made the move “with a heavy heart” due to the Covid pandemic.

But now the hall is to re-emerge in the hands of Club 3000 Bingo, the UK’s largest independent bingo operator. Bosses have said the facility will open at the end of this year.

And they have pledged to invest in creating a “luxury venue with the highest prize money at the lowest cost.”

The firm, which has six clubs in Scotland, will also roll out 40 jobs in a huge boost to the local economy.

Brian Fraser, founder of Club 3000 Bingo, said: “We are delighted to extend our portfolio of clubs to 22 and bring the Club 3000 brand to Kilmarnock.

“We already have six clubs in Scotland including our flagship club in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.

“This is a great venue and community, and we are looking forward to offer customers a fabulous bingo experience in a first-class, modern, and secure environment.

“We promise something special to look forward to – both for regular bingo lovers and new customers. We acquired the building last month and will be refurbishing it to the highest standards and hope to be open by Christmas 2021.”

Club 3000 is ranked the third-largest operator in the bingo industry and was founded in 2004 by Fraser, who oversees the family-run business.

He has overseen the expansion to running 21 sites across the country.

The business employs 700 staff and pledges to deliver “innovative designs and layout, providing customers with a first-class bingo experience, leading the way as a modern-day bingo operator”.
