Police want to trace men after town-centre attack
Man, 46, suffers serious head injury nearTesco
Detectives this week want to speak to two men in connection with a vicious attack in Ayr town centre.
A 46-year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital and treated for serious head and arm injuries after a serious assault in the town’s High Street.
A 37-year-old man suffered minor injuries during the same incident. He did not need further medical treatment.
It occurred near Tesco Express around 6.45pm on Monday, June 28.
Police were keen to speak to two men seen in the High Street at the time of the incident.
One is described as about 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing an orange high-visibility long-sleeved top and black shorts.
The other was in his 20s and of slim build. He was wearing a blue-hooded top, orange and black striped t-shirt and dark trousers.
Detective constable Gordon Thomson, of Ayr CID, said: “The motive for this attack is unknown, but one of the men sustained serious injuries and needed hospital treatment. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who may be able to help with our enquiries, particularly the two men seen on the High Street. If anyone was driving in the area at the time and has dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation, then I would ask them also to get in touch. Likewise anyone with private CCTV.”
