AYR UNITED NEW HOME KIT

work hard.

“I managed to get up and running in terms of goals last Tuesday night so I felt good in the game and hopefully that’s one of many.”

Adeloye told how Rangers pair Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara helped convince him to make the move to Somerset Park.

Adeloye and Aribo struck up a great friendship while they were trainees at Charlton Athletic.

And Adeloye is also good pals with Kamara from their time down south.

The Light Blues duo both made the move to Ibrox in 2019 and have since become key figures in Steven Gerrard’s side.

And it is their success that convinced Adeloye to make the move to Scotland too.

The 25 year-old said: “A few of my friends have been doing quite well up here and I’m very close with Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara and I’d previously expressed thoughts to them about me coming up here.

“And they said to me, ‘don’t turn it down.’ “Your can only see what moving north has done to their careers, their profiles are unbelievable and that’s through their hard work.”

Adeloye began his career at Charlton as a trainee and spent seven years at The Valley.

The forward has also plied his trade with the likes of Dagenham & Redbridge, FC United of Manchester, Ebbsfleet and more latterly at Barnet, where he scored

But he does know the Scottish game, having been on the books at East Kilbride, under Stevie Aitken, last season on a short-term deal.

Adeloye said: “Going to East Kilbride last year was a great experience and very different to what I was used to. But they were a great bunch.

“It gave me a positive feeling abut playing Scottish football.”

Ayr United’s stunning new home kit is a nod to the club’s proud past- and to an eco-friendly future.

Star striker Michael Moffat (pictured) was on hand at Somerset Park, along with his six year-old son Luka to model the new apparel.

The stunning hooped kit, made by Danish giant Hummel, is based on the club’s first black and white kit back in 1914.

The original Ayr United colours in 1910 were crimson and gold hoops until a decision was made a few years later that the club would take on more neutral colours to show respect to the history of both Ayr FC and Parkhouse.

A club spokesperson said: “This season’s home kit has been created with sustainability in mind too.

“Each shirt is made using Eco8 material, a high-tech polyester made from up to eight recycled plastic bottles.”

The kit will be available for pre-order soon and in stock at the end of July.
