Ice-cream parlour Flakes in Prestwick ha been given the green light to start serving hot food takeaways despite opposition from neighbours mainly over anti-social behaviour, noise and parking issues.

Amanda Missy Carey

So somewhere adding chips, rolls and sandwiches onto their menu on a premesises thats already established isn’t going to be the end of your mums life.

The owners are just trying to make a living and not their problem that the other shops are hairdressers and beauticians. if you are genuinely concerned about the noise you can get environmental health out but doubt very much that it will go in the residents favour. people visiting the takeaway is bringing business and revenue to your town.

Steven Dougan

It’s a tricky one. It’s not the owners fault but every time I walk past there is always a decent crowd of your “boy racers” with their clapped our corsas blasting music, fighting and showing off with their mates. I don’t blame the shop at all but it is attracting the wrong crowd.

Health chiefs have urged people to stop and think before attending A&E after a surge in covid cases, staff being off ill with Covid and a huge demand on care. Stacey Holdsworth

Took my son (10) last Saturday night to Ayr a&e, broken ankle (landed funny on the trampoline). We were in and out in 50 minutes. I was impressed with the timing!

Craig Chalmers

Is this the score from now on NHS struggles they blame Covid. Can someone who is a Covid hunter tell me why are numbers so high when 70 per cent of people have stopped testing .

Diane Ferguson

Craig Chalmers I’ve lost count of the number of folk I know who have had it recently, way more than ever before. The numbers are high because nobody staying home, washing hands, sanitising, or wearing a mask, and everything back to normal .... I was only one in two theatres past two weeks who was wearing a mask, but I can’t afford to take Covid back home, and don’t see why I should be isolating. I test at least twice a week, but again iin the care home

Monkton Community Council and Dailly Community Council have hit out at dog fouling in their areas.

Rebecca Lay

I’m a dog owner, just been down the beach with my dogs and picked up all three poos they did there in a bag. It’s really no big deal to do it and disgusting not to pick it up. I don’t go out with them unless I have bags and prepared to p ick it up

Annie Halliday

I can’t even enjoy walking my dog as I’m too busy watching where I’m standing, it really is getting out of control. And yes I do pick up it’s no big deal, bags aren’t expensive either and there are plenty bins.

Angela Grant

Who is going to enforce the fines as no one from SAC ever out to patrol the areas?

Lillian Mcnaught

Its absolutely disgusting 2 seconds is all it takes to pick up I’ve watched people pass by ma street just let their dogs do it everywere I’ve found it on the pavement and road.

Thousands of council workers across Ayrshire are set to be balloted for strike action.

John Mccann

I think I will go on rent paying strike at the same time then. They make us pay for doing all the cleaning and sorting of the litter ourselves anyway, we will be forced to carry it to the recycling cente next.

Morag Dobing

Haha. Go on strike that’s a bloody laugh , they cannae do their job right in the first place , last two weeks our small food bin wasn’t emptied and three weeks ago our neighbours wasn’t emptied.
