Talk of the town from our social media

-

A total of 47 outdated public space CCTV cameras across South Ayrshire are set to receive an upgrade as part of a £400,000 investment project.

Paul Macdonald

Can have as many cameras as you like but without the footall and patrol of officers it’s pretty useless, apart from showing the courts what happened when there was not enough officers to deal with it, stop it or prevent it in the first place.

Johnathon Ballantyne Are they still gonna be using 240p resolution?

Lynn Mcmorrow

Well I’m sure if they can afford this, the hub we need in Forehill Glencairn Park will be no bother to get then.

Chris Springy

Why spend that money on cameras? The highstreet is dead anyway. Should put it in to lower the rent for the retailers to get people back in to the high street plus most folk have got phone cameras which they will gladly record what ever happens and put on the social media anyway.

Robert Singer and his daughter Saskia are behind ambitious plans to breathe new life into an old toy shop in Ayr’s Newmarket Street.

Eddie Shanks

Best of luck. Folk moaning shops are lying empty. At least these people are trying to encourage folk to the town.

Jillian Powell

Sounds really exciting. Hope our council is helping out by dropping such things as the mammoth rates! What a vision. Our town will only change with the vision of the people. Good luck.

Lee Hart

Good luck Robert and Saskia, always bold as well as creative, innovative and dynamic where our council is not. Just look at Ayr and give credit to the people who are trying to drive change.

Kevin McCreadie

Always remember it as Beatties. Michael Hudson

It’s the old Scotch Corner

Elaine Margaret Bufton

Yes I agree the town is in need of a make over and it will take people like this who are prepared to think ‘outside the box’ to turn Ayr around!

David Strickland

A new toy shop would have been better.

Highly recommend the sharing platter, excellent value for money. They also have home-made baklava.

Car park chiefs at Ayr’s Boswell car park have denied their technology is faulty after threatening a driver with court action. Gracie CC

It’s shocking what’s going on in these car parks in Ayr.

Paul Mc

They have a cheek considering the state of the carpark. Stones and pot holes everywhere, unpainted railings.. And parking spaces are too tight and end up with people parking over 2/3 spaces. Should be free.

Nicola Wason

File it in the bin! They send a few threatening letters. It would cost them more than £100 to take you to court.

Paul Fitzsimmons

Bin it but don’t reply in any way just keep binning them and they’ll give up as they have no jurisdiction here in Scotland to issue fines.

Chris Rodie

Don’t pay them, bin them. Unless it’s local authorities or police then they’re not worth the paper it’s written on.

Lauren Hart

They did this to me! Sent me a fine, I had paid. Had to send my bank showing it had been paid and a photo of the ticket. Terrible.

Sara Stewart

She isn’t the only person! They are doing it to loads of people! They need sorting out!

About 500 dead birds have been cleared off South Ayrshire beaches amid an avian flu crisis.

Alex Craig
