She led members through a series of amusing exercises designed to playfully release the writers’ imaginativ­e flow and everyone listened in appreciati­on as each one shared very individual and stylish responses. Many of these were excellent starting points for stories, poetry and writing in a vast array of genres. MOELFRE OVER 50S CLUB: Nearly 40 members attended a ‘Christmas Crafts’ meeting on November 5 where they all were able to have a go at one of four crafts. There was sugar flower making, card making, Christmas decoration making and loom band figure making. Everyone managed to create something they had not had the opportunit­y to make before under the tuition of Trish, Beth, Jean and Bernice. Thanks are due to the Frank for running the raffle and to the refreshmen­t team who provided the tea and coffee. The next meeting is the Christmas Lunch which is being held at Tre-Ysgawen Hall on December 3. The bus will leave from the bus stop in Moelfre at noon. SINGING FOR PLEASURE: The Moelfre Singing for Pleasure group is presenting its Christmas Concert ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ this year on Friday December 12 at 7pm and Saturday December 13 at 2.30pm. Both concerts will be held in the school hall at Moelfre Primary School. Graham Williams from Natural Resources Wales spoke on developmen­ts at the forest and the entrance to the beach. Siwan Owen, the County Council’s Play Officer said that there was no suitable land available for a playing field at Llangaffo, but the problem will be kept in mind. The next meeting will be held at the Prichard Jones Institute, Newborough, on November 24. LLANDDWYN/NEWBOROUGH WI: Held its annual Fish and Chip Supper and AGM at Eglwys Bach on Wednesday November 5. Twenty members attended and a guest from Llanfaelog WI to monitor the voting . The President greeted Sandy and Carol on their November birthdays, and the reply to her letter from AFWI was read out, discussed and put on file. Linda, Shirley and Jos reported favourably on the RagRugging, Stay-Safe and Quiz Night respective­ly, noting the delicious suppers. The Treasurer reported a modest profit over the year and the Secretary reported increased membership, high attendance rates at meetings, a review of the year’s events and preview of plans for 2015. The President then delivered an overview of her three-year “term” of office. Linda became President for 2015, otherwise all officers remained in post. The December meeting will be a Christmas Craft Evening.

Anglesey Charitable Trust is not able to contribute to the creation of a safe playing area for the community. Council raised no objections to three planning applicatio­ns but raised concerns with planning applicatio­n No 42C237. The sub-committee’s report on the Welsh Government’s White Paper, “Reforming Local Government” was approved. Council representa­tives resolved a situation which concerned the connection of a cable across the B5109 and A5025. Twelve pieces of correspond­ence were discussed. Seven payments were approved. The next meeting of council will be held on December 3. Mr. Cook talked about Teams4U, which was founded 20 years ago,. Paint the Town Pink in Llangefni last week raised awareness of Breast Cancer and Llangefni Town Council helped make this an event that the whole town embraced. The Buttercup Boutique won the cup for the best dressed window. A donation was given for a plaque at the Anglesey Showground, to commemorat­e the efforts of the Land Army Girls. There was an Executive meeting on Tuesday Nov 11 followed by a business meeting on Thursday Nov 13.
