10 more top signings of the summer so far

- STEPHANIE WALSH (Llandudno to Denbigh Town) TOBY JONES Town to Rhyl) (Caernarfon YWAIN GWYNEDD agent to Porthmadog) (Free GERWYN JONES (Glantraeth to Llanrug United) TOM FIELD (Bangor City to Gap Connah’s Quay) LEXI MUSGRAVE and PAIGE MUSGRAVE (Caernarfon

North Wales Women’s League side Denbigh have strengthened their defence with the signing of Walsh from Llandudno.

Brave, strong, 100 per cent committed and an asset to have in any dressing room, Walsh is fierce in the tackle and also a danger in the opposition box.

Manager John Clayton is delighted to add the Rhylbased 28-year-old to his squad as they aim to win back the league crown they lifted in 2014/15.

Rhyl manager Niall McGuinness sees the capture of striker Jones from Caernarfon as the final piece in his jigsaw.

Jones, 23, first earned a move to Welsh Premier League football in 2011/12 after scoring 50 goals for Conwy United at the age of 18, going full-time with Neath.

He scored four goals in six starts for the Eagles (whom he also appeared for 18 times as a sub), then went onto Airbus in 2012/13 before dropping back into the Huws Gray Alliance with Llandudno, where he won the league in 2014/15, netting 13 times that season.

Jones then returned to Caernarfon Town where he played last season and again won the Huws Gray Alliance.

He is now relishing the opportunity to have another go at the Welsh Premier.

Craig Papirnyk is a very happy Porthmadog manager after finally netting footballer, musician and singer Ywain Gwynedd.

After a year out of football since leaving Caernarfon Town in 2014/15, Yws will be returning to the Traeth.

Papirnyk said: “I’m delighted to have signed Yws Gwynedd. I have been pursuing him over the past couple of seasons and I have now finally managed to secure his signature.

“I have known Yws since my junior playing days and have always admired the way he plays.

“He plays with a high intensity, he is energetic and leads those around him.

“His experience and character is already rubbing off onto the younger players in the squad.

“He has been working hard through pre-season and has impressed immensely during the minutes he has picked up at Llangefni, Aber and Wrexham. He will certainly strengthen us centrally and bring something new to our squad.”

The 32-year-old has played in the Welsh Premier for Porthmadog and Llangefni Town, featuring in 55 games and notching five goals.

After playing for Glantraeth last season defender Jones switches to fellow Welsh Alliance club Llanrug.

As a youngster Jones played for Tranmere Rovers youth and reserve teams as well as for Wales at under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels.

He then took up a scholarship with Loyola University in Maryland, USA, and played in the States for three years.

Since returning to Wales, he has also been with Bangor City, Rhyl and Porthmadog. Bangor City is a club full of surprises right now and a few eyebrows were raised when Field left Nantporth without featuring in a competitive game for the Citizens to join the Nomads.

Former Everton youth Field, 30, spent four illustrious seasons with Airbus UK Broughton before joining Chorley of the National League North in December 2015.

He had a spell with Stockport County prior to signing for Bangor and is now at the Deeside Stadium.

Quay manager Andy Morrison said: “I’ve worked with Tom at Airbus and Northwich and I know exactly what he can bring to our squad.

“On his day, Tom can be as good as any midfielder in the Welsh Premier League.

“He can score goals as well as create opportunities and it is that creative side that I have felt we have lacked in certain games.

“As with all of our summer signings, Tom has to reach the fitness levels and standards I demand of everyone and once he is at that level, I am sure he will play a massive part in the season ahead.”

Returning to Amlwch after a spell at Caernarfon Town last season are Anglesey-based sister act Lexi and Paige Musgrave.

The last time Amlwch saw Lexi in competitive action she broke their hearts as she scored the winner for the Cofis against the islanders in the Betty Pickering Cup Final last season.

However, the ever-improving Anglesey club will welcome the return of a forward who has been a regular goal-getter for Caernarfon and Wrexham, as well as Amlwch, in recent years.

Versatile Paige excels most on the right wing. Her talents developed at Llandegfan and Bangor University before moving on to Amlwch and Caernarfon and, like Lexi, she has also represented Ynys MÔn at the Island Games. SAM FAULKNER City to Glantraeth)

This 19-year-old midfielder made three substitute appearances for Bangor City in the Welsh Premier League but never really got the full opportunity to display his immense talents at Nantporth.

Faulkner has past experience at the Wrexham Academy and also shone during a stint at Menai Bridge Tigers of the Gwynedd League.

Hopefully this move to Glantraeth will prove a step towards playing at the higher level his ability deserves. (Bangor

Last season’s Welsh Alliance Division One Player of the Year has earned himself a promotion to Huws Gray Alliance outfit Holywell.

Bridge netted 22 goals for Glantraeth last term and prior to that was a regular marksman for Pwllheli and Dolgellau.

The 26-year-old is highly rated by Wellmen boss Johnny Haseldin. JOE HENRY (Blacon Thistle to Brickfield Rangers)

Brickfield Rangers are Immensely proud to announce that former Blacon Thistle FC striker Joe Henry has been snapped up by director of football Dave Norman and first team manager Simon Sedgwick.

Joe, who recently made his debut for Brickfield by scoring with a first-half header against Mold Alexandra, joins the club after netting an amazing 46 goals in the Chester and District League last season which helped Blacon to back-to back championship titles. In one game he even banged in 11 goals!

Henry said: “I am extremely pleased to have joined a club with great facilities, a great coaching team that want to help support you to learn to get better and a club that is so welcoming.

“I haven’t come here to just play football, I’m here to score goals and win the Welsh National Premier Division title for Brickfield.”
