The general picture on the island revealed that the percentage achieving A-E grades (96.9%) was just below the national average (97.3%) with 6.2% achieving the coveted A* grade.

Delyth Molyneux, Anglesey Council’s head of lifelong learning, and education portfolio holder Cllr Ken Hughes said they were pleased with the results across the five secondary schools. “It’s a pleasure to congratulate the young people of Anglesey on their success this year,” Delyth Molyneux said.

“The general performance and A-C performance across all subjects is commendable, with the percentage of students gaining A* grades particularly high in Chemistry, Further Mathematics, History, Psychology and Physical Education.
