Thomas battles to the end

A NUMBER of Cybi Striders runners made the trip to Chester for the popular marathon and metric marathon.

On what was a very hot day, Jason Thomas was first Cybi in, finishing in three hours 30 minutes despite suffering problems from around mile 17 onwards.

Michaela Owen 3-40 and Sue Jones 4-37.

Alun T Jones completed the metric marathon (26.2km) in 2-43.

On the same day Nigel Holmes and Edith Gruber continued with their preparation for the Snowdonia Marathon in completing the Râs Pedwar Llyn in Rhosgadfan.

Holmes clocked 2-33.58 with Gruber posting 2-44.22.

Cybi took first and third places in the Bangor Half Marathon last Friday, with Ryan Roberts winning the race.

Roberts set a personal best time and a new course record of one hour 13 minutes 22 seconds. Andy Savage came third in 1.21.31.

In the 10k race Russell Williams finished first in the over 45 category in 41.01.

Paul Maitland 52.29,Chris Williams 55.58.

Andy Edwards, Michaela Owen and Sue Jones completed in the Petzl Night Trail race at Coed y Brenin last Friday.

Competitors race against the clock to see who can cover most distance in the dark within three hours. Edwards finished 16th with Owen third in her section and winning her category.
