Family-run outdoor firm is expanding

-

FAMILY-RUN Anglesey startup Môn Active is expanding its offering as the island sees a boom in outdoor activities amid rising tourism numbers.

Based in Llanfairpwll, Môn Active specialises in delivering high-quality, bilingual first aid and outdoor pursuits, offering first aid courses in Paediatric First Aid, First Aid at Work and sector-specific first aid, as well as outdoor activity sessions, sea kayaking courses and instructor training programs

“Anglesey and North Wales has seen a huge rise in activity tourism of late and it’s great to see such an enthusiasm for the outdoors. We believe that North Wales can deliver a complete package for everyone, not just the adrenalin junkies amongst us. Sea kayaking especially can offer a different perspective on the island’s landscape, its wildlife and its unique geology” said Richard Griffiths Hughes, co-founder and lead instructor.

The company focuses on training course participants in all aspects of their chosen sport, particularly safety.

Hughes, says, “Safety is at the foremost of all of our activities. With an increase in tourist numbers, there have been an increase in the number of call outs for the RNLI and Mountain Rescue teams locally. All of our activities and courses encourage the individuals to develop an awareness for safety and risk management within their chosen sport”

“The course is usually staffed by two highly-experienced and highly-qualified trainers with decades of experience of delivering first aid, first aid training and incident management training between them. We’re running our next one at the end of November and it is competitively priced at £150 per person for the two days”

The Rescue and Emergency Care First Aid for Sea Kayakers course is being run on November 22/23.
