INDEPENDENTS
WE’VE worked tirelessly to provide a stable political foundation. This, and consensual politics, have seen us move forward with pace in the face of difficult financial settlements from Cardiff.
Our leisure centres and libraries have been protected. New schools, an extra care home and council houses are being built. We have managed finances carefully and have kept council tax in the lowest quarter in Wales.
We commit to maintaining strong consensual politics and to improve performance, ensuring transparency and that ourselves and officers are held accountable for performance. Protecting front line services is vital with three years of austerity still ahead.
Wylfa Newydd will provide 800 good careers but we must control the effects of the build and negotiate strong mitigation measures. We’ll also ensure the UK Government maintains its promise on community benefits. We oppose the National Grid’s pylon plans and insist on undergrounding. We are committed to consultation and engagement, ensuring you have a voice.
