CAMERA: Beaumaris and Menai Bridge Camera Club’s 2017/18 season will start at 7:30pm on Fri, Sept 8 with a member’s evening. The Club meets on Friday evenings from September to April in the hall of St Anne’s Catholic Church in Dale St, Menai Bridge. MENAI BRIDGE WAR MEMORIAL COMMUNITY CENTRE: The AGM will be held on Thursday July 20 at 7pm in the Centre in Water Street. The committee is urgently seeking new volunteers for the positions of secretary and treasurer. There are plans to re-furbish the building in time to celebrate its 100th year. Recent and current classes include Slimming World, Pilates, Yoga, Zumba dance, Ki Aikido, Sewing, & Art. Public meetings, Parties and Coffee Mornings are held regularly. ANGLESEY MôNTAGE WRITING FESTIVAL: On September 9 a group of Anglesey writers will host a writing festival. Writing workshops will cover a variety of subjects. Beginners or establishe­d writers are all welcome. The workshops will be through the medium of English but there will also be workshops for Welsh learners with Bethan Gwanas. All the tutors are published authors with a wealth of experience. The day time ticket is £25, which entitles participan­ts to attend three individual workshops and includes a buffet lunch. The festival will be held at Ysgol David Hughes, Menai Bridge from 9 for 9.30-5pm. In the evening there will be a light hearted concert at the Victoria Hotel, Menai Bridge starting at 7pm featuring musician/composer John Hywel and poet/ playwright John Gorman (of the Scaffold).
