AHOST of Welsh artists will join Rag n Bone Man, Mogwai, The Flaming Lips and Bloc Party at Festival No 6 this summer, it has been announced.

BBC Wales and Arts Council Wales’ music project - Horizons - will open the Welsh speaking stage, Lost in the Woods, again this summer for Portmeirio­n’s special sixth edition festival which takes place from September 7-10.

And North Wales acts including Llangollen-based Campfire Social, Wrexham’s indie-pop sensation Kidsmoke and Caernarfon’s psychedeli­c favourites Castles will be some of the first to take to the stage.

Cardiff’s art-rock theatrics of Palomino Party, post-rock girl group Adwaith, electro-pop maverick Griff Lynch, folk rock duo Zervas and Pepper, anthemic rock from Climbing Trees, blues-tinged indie rockers Candelas and Sweet Baboo have also been added to the Friday night bill.

BBC Radio 1 and BBC Cymru C2’s Huw Stephens and John Rostron - cofounders of Cardiff’s Sŵn Festival - have also put together a mix of Welsh artists and collaborat­ors for the third day of the festival held at Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’ Italianate village.

Artists will include electronic pop musician and producer Ani Glass, Argrph, Chroma, DJ Elan Evans, rising Welsh artist Greta Isaac, Lastig Band, sets by Swn DJ’s, Toby Hay and Twinfield.

And on Sunday, September 10, Nyth Gwydir will host a collective blend of Welsh and internatio­nal artists, including guitar-slinging singer Yws Gwynedd, Yr Eira, Carcharori­on, Welsh folk-rockers Bob Delyn a’r Ebillion, Alys Williams, alternativ­e folk trio Plu and several sets by Nyth DJ’s.DJ’s

The Gwynedd village spectacula­r will also host CED Music this year, who has curated an audio feast with unsigned artists across the Welsh musical spectrum.

Highlights will include songwriter AP Cooper, four-piece rock band Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles, Bonnie Pilgrim, Calfari, Climbing Trees, Corteous Thief, Deckchair Protest, Hannah Willwood, Magi Tudur and Paur Green.

The stage will also play host to singer-songwriter Sera, Welsh poet Sophie McKeand, Synnwyr Cyffredin, The Bortowski Swing, The Secret, Velvet, Xtacsi and Wil Williams & The Continenta­ls.

More acts and DJs are still to be announced as part of the full line up, organisers have confirmed.
