Island derby is on horizon for Boded & Aber

-

BODEDERN Athletic have gained a major psychological advantage ahead of this Saturday’s all-Anglesey Welsh Cup second qualifying round tie with Aberffraw.

Last week saw Boded triumph 4-1 at Berffro in a Welsh Alliance Division Two fixture to lay down a marker for this weekend’s cup tussle.

However, Aberffraw have a reputation for causing upsets in knockout competitions and cannot be discounted at Cae Ty Cristion.

Amlwch Town can expect a very tough test at Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Conwy Borough, who have the prolific Anglesey-based striker Corrig McGonigle in their ranks. McGonigle has already bagged 12 goals in five matches this term.

Gaerwen may fancy their chances of a surprise when they entertain Welsh Alliance Division One outfit Pwllheli, who knocked out Llangefni Town in the last round.

Due to the resignation of Glantraeth from all competitions, scheduled opponents Prestatyn Sports get a bye to the next round.
