Lager lout poured drink over passenger’s head

-

A rail passenger had lager poured over his head and fellow travellers were shocked by the shouting and swearing of two Anglesey men, a court heard last week.

Richard Williams, 48, of Cefn Capel, Llanfair PG, admitted common assault and disorderly behaviour last July. A twelve weeks suspended jail term was imposed and he must do 150 hours unpaid work, pay £250 compensation and £200 costs.

Gareth Roland 44, of Trem Eryri, Llanfair PG, was fined £120 and has to pay £200 compensation and £115 costs. He admitted disorderly behaviour.

District judge Gwyn Jones told them at Llandudno court: ”It’s clear you were significantly influenced by the copious amount of alcohol you had consumed. Members of the public have to be protected from anti-social acts wherever they occur.

“Anti-social behaviour on trains is more problematic on the basis that people are not able to escape.”
