Phase 1 mission accomplished, let’s press on for second half

-

SO that’s the end of the first phase.

Bangor were unlucky to lose against the champions on Saturday, especially as it could have been argued that we were unfortunate not to be facing 10 men after a certain point.

It was great to see another good performance against the title-holders, and that should give us hope for the second phase.

Crowds may have been down recently but we still managed to take a coachful of fans on Saturday.

Now we know the identity of the top six we can look forward to the challenge of securing more European football. Starting in February we will be playing the champions, Connah’s Quay, Bala, Cardiff Met and Cefn Druids.

I’ll be able to put the fixtures in this column when they are announced in a couple of weeks. At this stage I can exclusively reveal that we will have five home matches and five away matches, unless we get to the play-offs when we could have another two matches.

At the time of writing our first-team squad hasn’t seen any changes but it’s heartening that some of our academy players have been included in recent match day squads.

We have a free weekend next weekend due to Saturday’s League Cup final.

The week after (January 27) we have the very interesting Welsh Cup trip to Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant. We are running transport to the match, so if you’d like to book a seat call Einion on 07969 461036.

The mid-season draw will take place in a couple of days. If you still have tickets please bring them to Nantporth or contact Einion on the above number. The winners will be announced over our usual channels as well as the next column.

If there’s an issue you would like to share with us send e-mails to bcfcsa@ hotmail.com
