Victory over champions... and next a cup semi-final

-

ANOTHER home victory over the champions! The third in a row.

Second place still in our own hands. A man-of-the-match performance from a goalkeeper.

It was nice to see some of our younger players looking rather comfortable in a first-team match. Now we have a Welsh Cup semi-final to look forward to.

We’ve all got Welsh Cup fever this week, even though we’ll be playing the semi-final against Connah’s Quay Nomads on a Saturday evening. This will be the first time I have attended a British football match on a Saturday evening, but I won’t let the stark unfamiliarity of the situation stop me enjoying the day (hopefully).

I think we can all remember the last sun-drenched semifinal we played in Rhyl – it was both a literal and metaphorical sun-drenched day. If you close your eyes you’ll be able to see Chris Jones dink the ball into the goal again. It was a day for the good guys, as someone that stands near me at Nantporth once said.

We may have won every semi-final we’ve played in Rhyl but that doesn’t mean a thing at 7.35pm on Saturday. Let’s hope we have an enjoyable evening.

The sharp-eyed on Saturday will have noticed the club shop has vanished from near the turnstile. If you’re looking for merchandise, don’t worry, you should be able to find it on sale within the Farrar Suite until further notice.

We have organised transport to the very important away match in Connah’s Quay on Saturday, April 14. The bus will leave Nantporth at 10.30am. To book a seat contact Einion (07969 461036).

Our next meeting will take place a week on Monday so if there’s an idea you’d like to share get in touch via social media or e-mail to bcfcsa@ hotmail.com.
