SHIPWRECK: Menai Heritage, the independen­t charity that runs the popular Bridges Exhibition in Menai Bridge, is planning a storytelli­ng event at the Thomas Telford Centre on the evening of 14 May. Titled Shipwreck!!!, the evening of “Menai Maritime Mayhem” will see Menai Heritage volunteers relive the perils of life at sea. The bilingual event, with free entry, begins at 6:30pm at Thomas Telford Centre (across from Waitrose). For more informatio­n see the website: https:// bmbcc.weebly.com/ HMS CONWAY: Menai Heritage, is commemorat­ing the 65th anniversar­y of the grounding of the training ship HMS Conway in the Menai Strait, with a special exhibition, to include photos of the ship and of some of the cadets, and a number of artefacts from the ship, many loaned from the Friends of the HMS Conway. The exhibition will be on until the end of June at the Thomas Telford Centre during their normal opening hours, Weds and Thurs, 10am-5pm. Entrance fee £3; children under 16 free. Also, on Saturday, June 2, a special lecture about the HMS Conway will be given by Alfie Windsor, a former HMS Conway cadet and historian of the ship (2pm), at the Thomas Telford Centre.
