Two men, 850 offences... the prolific criminals who keep racking up the convictions
TWO men who between them have clocked up 850 offences on their criminal records have appeared in court again – one of them twice within 24 hours.
Sherry-loving David Valencia, 68, who had been living in a caravan at Dinas Dinlle, near Caernarfon, Gwynedd appeared in the dock first.
He admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order(CBO) when he entered Asda at Bangor last Saturday.
James Neary, prosecuting, said he selected QC sherry and left but police didn’t pursue this.
In February, Valencia had notched up offence 449 when he admitted stealing a bottle of QC from a Spar store.
Last Monday district judge Gwyn Jones, at Llandudno court, imposed a 14 weeks suspended jail term and ordered him to pay £200 costs.
“Keep out of trouble,” the judge urged him.
But last Tuesday the drinker was brought back to court and pleaded guilty to a further breach of the CBO.
A CCTV operator at Colwyn Bay had spotted him spending a penny in daylight at a bus stop in the town’s busy main road.
Judge Jones activated the suspended sentence and added two weeks imprisonment for the breach – a total of 16 weeks ks behind bars.
“You were given the chance, e, you have blown it,” the judge e said to Valencia.
Last Monday the judge dealt with another one-man crimewave whose record of shame hit 400 – prolific thief David Archer, 63, of Belmont Grove, Rhyl.
He pleaded guilty to stealing three boxes of fish fingers worth £3 from a shop.
A six months conditional discharge was imposed and Archer r must pay £105 costs and £3 commpensation.
The theft in March at Rhyl happpened before Archer received a suspended jail sentence.
