BEAU­MARIS A crashed to their first de­feat of the Gwynedd Seniors’ Bowls League cam­paign when out­played 6-3 at Cric­ci­eth.

Beau­maris B were 8-1 con­querors of Llan­dudno B, with Robin Davies ex­celling on 21-2 and Trevor Ashen­den 21-7.

Gwynedd Seniors’ League bowlers are winners at last – for the first time in two sea­sons – in the North Wales In­ter-Leagues’ Cham­pi­onship, gain­ing a 15-11 score-line against the Cl­wydi­ans from Den­bighshire.

Gwynedd emerged on top over­all by 13-11 games and 412-389 points.

At Benllech, the hosts were held in the games at 6-6 but es­tab­lished a lead of 211-189, thanks par­tic­u­larly to Derek Stan­ley’s 21-9 re­turn and debu­tant Barry Har­ris with 21-10.

At Abergele, Gwynedd‘s line-up built a 7-5 lead in games, with the points level at 201-201.
