Dewi delivers with 98 as Bethesda hit Tudno for six

-

AN unbeaten 98 from Dewi Roberts was the key ingredient as Bethesda defeated Llandudno by six wickets in the North Wales Cricket League 2nd XI West Division.

Tudno won the toss and elected to bat, posting 164-4 off 40 overs, Gethin Hughes notching 2-37 for Pesda.

The hosts hit back with 167-4 from 32.2, Roberts’ 110-ball knock, which included 16 fours and a six, totally dominating as Bethesda recorded a 13-2 points verdict.

Dave Barker was a century-making hero as Bangor hammered Carmel by 161 runs in the Sunday 3rd XI Division.

Calling the coin correctly and taking first knock, the Citizens compiled a mammoth 290-4 from 40 overs, Barker finishing 103 not out, Chris Dawson adding 88 and Ali Zaidi 32.

Hugh Kelly then picked up 4-18 off nine overs as Carmel were dismissed for 129. Marc Jones pocketed 2-29 and Jon Hendry 2-37.

Menai Bridge thirds remain top of the table following a 13-2 points decision against visitors Mochdre.

The Anglesey side struck 205-7 off 40 overs, opener Shaun Whitley doing best with 82, George Roberts 27 not out and Tony Stephens 26.

Mochdre were then bowled out for 141, Mathew Jones the pick of Menai’s attack with 3-39, Roberts taking 2-1, Whitley 2-7 and Andy Goodwin 2-46 in a 64-run success.

This Sunday sees Bangor thirds welcome Connah’s Quay thirds to Ty Newydd, while leaders Menai Bridge thirds make the journey to Brymbo thirds.
