MORE social housing and the island’s first 3G football pitch are among the projects Anglesey council is hoping to deliver over the coming 12 months.
In its own version of the “Queen’s Speech”, Anglesey’s executive is set to rubber-stamp the authority’s delivery plan for 2018/19, which also includes building new business units and encouraging cruise ship visitors to spend their money locally.
The individual costs of projects have not been revealed, but the report notes that they are deliverable as part of the decision-making process when the year’s budget was prepared.
Council leader Llinos Medi described the delivery plan as “ambitious but realistic”, and based on public feedback.
“Our plan was developed and formed based on the opinion of local people, our partners, as well as local and national political priorities such as the welfare agenda,” she said.
“The council has adopted its main aim, i.e. that we will ‘work towards an Anglesey that is healthy, thriving and prosperous’, and the key theme is the need to ensure services of a high standard that will improve the quality of life for everyone on the island.”
