Cefni snap up top striker and keep their keeper

-

LLANGEFNI TOWN have signed a striker with a proven scoring record and retained the services of their keeper from last season.

Attacker Liam Morris was at Gaerwen last term, netting 29 goals, but has now decided to try his luck in Welsh Alliance Division One with Cefni.

Town manager Chris Roberts said: “Liam is a great player and one that I kept a close eye on throughout last season and was really impressed with him.

“He is quick, direct and has a great eye for goal. Liam has been training with us throughout pre-season and we can already see that he will bring a real threat to us going forward.”

Remaining at Lon Talwrn is last season’s player and managers’ player of the year, goalkeeper Steven Sinclair.

Cefni had signed top-rated Dylan Roberts from Llanrug, but he opted to return to Eithin Duon shortly afterwards.

Llangefni boss Roberts added: “This is fantastic news for us, I class Steve as one of the best goalkeepers around. He was outstanding last season and a major part of us finishing second in the league.

“We were all crossing our fingers that Steve would sign once again but weren’t sure of his situation and what he was going to do. This is why we signed Dylan at the beginning of the transfer window as a back-up plan in case we could not secure the services of Steve once more.”
