In future tea makers will, as in the past, beresponsi­ble for supplying tea, biscuits and raffle prizes. Other business was quickly dispatched and the AGM was called. Roz reported on a successful year and Betty gave the treasurer’s report The club is still solvent but income is falling and costs (eg of coaches for trips) is rising. She stressed the usefulness of football cards and it was agreed to raise subscripti­ons in September to £12. The committee then resigned and all were re-elected. All then enjoyed a buffet tea supplied by members in a cheerful party atmosphere. The speaker at the September 12 meeting will be Sylvia Targett of the Age Cymru Advocacy Service.

The summer Social Event was held at Caernarfon Golf Club, with a Hawaiian theme, with everyone wearing garlands (and some even grass skirts!). Then entertaine­d by “The Welsh Elvis” (aka Rev Wynne Roberts), with members enjoying joining in the singing.
