DEMENTIA: The Seiriol Dementia Steering Group has been working together since 2017 to raise awareness and understand­ing of how to support those living with and affected by Dementia to remain involved and able to participat­e in community activities. The group needs more support and is arranging an official Launch Event to be held at Y Canolfan, Beaumaris on Friday September 21, 10-4pm. There will be an opportunit­y to attend a Dementia Friend session (less than hour) to help raise your awareness and understand­ing, and you can meet local organisati­ons that provide support and services for carers and their loved ones. Tea and coffee will be available for free – and members of the Steering Group will be available if you wish to have a quiet conversati­on, or receive further info. RUN FEST: Hundreds of runners are expected to descend onto Beaumaris on Sunday, September 9 as the inaugural Beaumaris Running Festival is set to take place. Using one of the most stunning course locations in the UK, the festival includes a fun run, 10k and a challengin­g half marathon course.
