Gogs slip up for first time

RGC suf­fered a first de­feat of the sea­son last Satur­day when they went down 19-12 at home to Ebbw Vale.

The Gogs led at half time in this Pre­mier­ship clash at Parc Eirias, but were below par in the sec­ond half.

Vale opened the scor­ing with an early penalty from Rhys Jones be­fore RGC hit back with an An­drew Wil­liams try, con­verted by Billy McBryde

A sec­ond Jones penalty made it 7-6, but Iolo Evans fin­ished a great back-line move for a 12-6 in­ter­val lead.

Vale notched 13 unan­swered points in the sec­ond pe­riod.

RGC had played with pace and good hands in the first half, bu,t in the sec­ond, the tempo was slower and bro­ken up, play­ing into the vis­i­tors’ hands.
