Caterers wanted for island gallery’s cafe

-

CATERERS are being invited to bid for Oriel Môn’s busy café and catering services from next April.

With nearly 100,000 visitors last year alone, the café is a popular part of the offer at the gallery and museum complex in Llangefni.

The café has over 50 covers indoors and potentially another 50 outdoors and is open daily throughout the year.

Oriel Môn senior manager Esther Roberts said: “We’re looking for suitable applicants from caterers experienced in providing high quality, freshly prepared dishes using local foods and recipes. The caterer would also provide refreshments for those who use Oriel Môn as a venue for business meetings, functions and conferences. The contract will run for two years with an option to extend for another two.”

All parties are invited to tender for the new contract – with applications invited by 14 January 2019.

Gwenan Rowlands, of Blas Mwy, is the current service provider until the current catering contract finishes on 31 March 2019.

Gwenan and her team have been welcoming visitors with freshly prepared food for a number of years having successfully bid for the contract in 2006 and 2012.

There will likely be TUPE implications for the successful applicant.
