MORRIS DANCING: Thursdays 8-10pm. Cadi Ha Morris are looking for new members of any gender, aged 16+ to dance or as musicians. Come along on a Thursday evening to try it out free of charge! No experience or partner needed. Just turn up in loose comfortable clothes and trainers or similar. Based in Bangor, it teaches and performs traditional Morris dances from the Cotswolds. September to May practice indoors in Bangor. The summer is spent displaying the team’s skills wherever it can. BLOOD CANCER: If you or any of your family of friends are affected by lymphoma, myeloma, leukaemia or any other blood cancer, there is now a support group that meets on the first Thursday of alternate months in Bangor from 7pm-8.30pm at St Davids outpatients department, Ysbyty Gwynedd. As well as meeting others with similar experiences, there will be interesting speakers and informative discussion and the kettle is always on. PALS SUPPER CLUB: (People Alone Like Socializing) Gwynedd, Anglesey & Conwy. If you’re alone (for whatever reason) over 55 and interested in meeting others in the same situation, for supper once a month. Please join the online group meetup.com/ PALS-supperclub and join for supper, interesting conversation and good company on the 2nd Friday of every month. PALS plan to hold regular monthly supper nights in different towns. This is a bilingual group for single adults aged over 55, living in roughly a 50 mile radius of Bangor, North Wales, to expand their friendships with those who find themselves in similar solo circumstances, to get out and socialize.

DYSLEXIA AWARENESS: The Miles Dyslexia Centre will host a programme of events over August 20-22. These will be a series of lectures and practical workshops, suitable for educators and parents, from 10am-4pm, covering such topics as: Recognising and Identifying Dyslexia; Multisensory Teaching Approaches; The Social and Emotional Effects of Dyslexia; Dyscalculia and Maths; Teaching Reading and Spelling. This series of lectures/ workshops will provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about Dyslexia / Dyscalculia alongside the MDC team who will be available to offer expert advice and guidance. Each day costs £85, book all three for the discounted rate of £200 (tea and coffee provided!). Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. CHARITY COLLECTION: A one-day collection at the Bangor Tesco store raised £850 for the Royal Marines Charity. Collection buckets were held by members of the North Wales branch of the Royal Marines Association, which wishes to thank shoppers and also Tesco for making the event such a success.
