Celebrated pianist is all set to open concert season at Theatr Clwyd
CELEBRATED pianist Stephen Kovacevich opens Theatr Clwyd’s 2019/20 Concert Season next month with a programme including Bach, Beethoven and Schubert. Stephen Kovacevich is one of the greatest pianists of the last half century, and in his long and distinguished career as a concert pianist, he is particularly renowned for his interpretations of Schubert.
Born in Los Angeles, Stephen Kovacevich is one of the ‘Great Masters’ of his generation and considered as one of the most searching interpreters, never afraid to take both technical and musical risks in order to achieve maximum expressive impact.
He has appeared with many of the world’s finest orchestras and conductors including Bernard Haitink, Kurt Masur, Simon Rattle and Georg Solti.
Recent highlights include his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut, a European recital tour with Martha Argerich, a recital tour to East Asia and recital performances in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Los Angeles, Washington and Singapore.

Stephen Kovacevich will play Bach: Prelude and Fugue No.4, Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.30 in E major and Schubert: Piano Sonata No.21 in B flat. Stephen Kovacevich comes to Theatr Clwyd (Theatr Anthony Hopkins) on Sunday September 8 at 7.30pm.
