Cafe and music store plan for empty shop
A FORMER clothes shop could be turned into a cafe and music store if approved by council planners.
Following the closure of the “Take 4” clothes shop, the unit on Llangefni High Street is currently empty.
But plans have now been submitted that would see the shop transformed into a new venture combining both a cafe and music shop.
The proposals, submitted by qualified musician Pat Lee and dietician Liz Pryde, would see a small cafe with seating for 15 people.
Meanwhile, the music shop would provide a bilingual service selling new and second hand instruments as well as offering music tuition.
The design and access statement, accompanying the application, notes that the intention is to provide “a hub for the local community with an interest in music” and connecting with local schools to support music tuition and provide affordable instruments to all.
“She (Liz) has a passion for cooking and catering for those with food intolerances,” it goes on to note.
“She is excited about this opportunity to offer tailored diets to the local community, while raising awareness of food sustainability and healthy eating.
“He (Pat) returned home to Anglesey recently following four years teaching and repairing instruments at a music academy in London, where he also gained experience of working in a music shop.
“He feels immensely fortunate to have discovered music and is keen to share this by providing quality music tuition and supplying appropriate instruments to the local community around Llangefni.”
