BARC SATURDAY MEET

- Motorsport

BRITISH Automobile Racing Club: The Citroën C1 24-hour race that was scheduled to take place at Anglesey Circuit over the weekend of 7th & 8th September has been cancelled due to a shortage of marshals to cover the event safely.

The Citroën C1 Racing Club’s second 24-hour race of the season was due to form part of the British Automobile Racing Club’s two-day event, but a severe lack of marshals forced the BARC to cancel the endurance race.

This meeting will now just run on Saturday with a busy schedule for Caterham Graduates and the Hyundai Coupe Cup and an all-comers race to close the day.

Arguably one of the largest championships in the UK, the Caterham Graduates Championship is open to 1600cc Caterham Roadsport cars, as originally raced in the Caterham Scholarship and Caterham Academy series. The championship boasts a multi-class system to allow various engines to compete.

With entry lists topping 40 cars on a regular basis, the close and competitive racing is quite often aweinspiring, and nowhere more so than at Anglesey on the technically challenging Coastal configuration, which includes the ever-popular Corkscrew complex.

The Hyundai Coupe Cup is one of the fastest-growing series in the UK under the British Automobile Racing Club umbrella.

The Coupe Cup is a budget conscious, single-make category for first and second generation two-litre Hyundai Coupe cars running a strict set of construction rules.

Using control parts from some of the top motorsport manufacturers ensures costs are kept in check and it is the driver that makes the difference.
