Bodedern lose out in Alliance thriller:

BODEDERN Athletic were beaten 3-2 by Penrhyndeu­draeth in the Welsh Alliance Division One.

Huw Quaeck (2) and Jack Jones scored the goals for the Gwynedd side with Tom Wood and Dean Redmond on the mark for the visitors.

In Division Two, Llion Owen and Ben Fisher scored in Barmouth and Dyffryn’s 2-0 win at Holyhead Town, Jack Williams (2) and Mark Jones scored for Llandudno Junction in a 3-1 win against Amlwch Town, Ryan Rowlands responding, and it ended 2-2 between Pentraeth and Mochdre Sports.

Marc Lock and Kian Abbot were Pentraeth’s scorers.

In the Take Stock Challenge Cup, Penmaenmaw­r Phoenix were beaten 1-0 at home by Aberffraw, Nathan Moore with the only goal.

Y Felinheli hammered Gaerwen 5-0, Iwan Owen and Gruff John with two apiece, Cai Dafydd the other.

In the Gwynedd League, leaders Trearddur Bay Bulls needed a late equaliser from Tom Hadley to salvage a 2-2 draw from their clash with Nefyn United.

Dylan Sion Jones and Gethin Trenholme twice gave the visitors the lead, but Hadley levelled it up both times.

Second-place Menai Bridge Tigers fought back from two-down to win 3-2 at Waunfawr.

Adam Jones and Guto Llywelyn put the Gwynedd side 2-0 ahead at half time, but goals from Kelvin Frazer, Callum Davidson and Kev Roberts won it for the Tigers.

Llanystumd­wy thrashed Glantraeth 5-1, Mark Godfrey, Gethin Owen, Sion Pierce and Darren Parry (2) all on target with Rhys Griffiths (pen) responding.

Jac Thomas (2) and Connor Jones led Bro Goronwy to a 3-1 success over Caergybi, Nathan Lewis for the visitors, and Llangoed beat Ogwen Tigers 5-1 away.

Llion Roberts (2), Sam Gregson (2) and Matty Owen all scored for the visitors, Ryan Hughes for the hosts.

Bontnewydd were 5-1 winners at Bethesda, with Morgan Roberts (3) Tomos Jones and Josh Roberts scoring and Andy Clarke on target for Pesda.
