Candidate’s views on Wylfa Newydd project

-

ANGLESEY’S Conservative candidate in the General Election has added her views on the future of nuclear power on the island.

Last week we sought the views of the election candidates on the stalled Wylfa Newydd project, but the Conservative response was omitted.

Virginia Crosbie, Conservative, said: “I am proud that the United Kingdom is the first major economy in the world to pass laws to end our contribution to global warming by 2050.

“Whilst this target is ambitious I will, if elected, fight to reach this target earlier. Nuclear is a sustainable way between the brothers ended.

The cause of the rift is believed to have been Ryan’s affair with his sister-in-law Natasha Giggs, with Rhodri saying: “It’s like I’ve done the affair.”

Quizzed on why Ryan, who slept with Rhodri’s wife, remains part of the family, he answered: “Because I haven’t got 35 medals, I haven’t played for Manchester United for 20 odd years [and] I haven’t got a big house.”

During the podcast chat, he also revealed that he only “found out [about the affair] on the day the papers put it out.”

He added that he “kinda had an inkling a few years before” but never fully suspected an affair, which in fact happened on-off for eight years.

Evidently affected by the issues within the family, Rhodri said: “I’ve got three children, one whose five who [my mum has] never met and one who’s 13 who she hasn’t seen for seven or eight years, what have they done? They live a mile away.

“Ryan’s got a son who’s exactly the same age, these people should be mixing with each other and looking out for each other but instead they don’t even know each other, that’s the sad thing.”

He added that the family “all speak to Ryan and they all live in Wales and go to [his] games.” to decarbonise our economy and so I would champion the development of Wylfa Newydd.

“The loss of so many well paid and highly skilled jobs on the Island over the last decade adds urgency to the need to create the jobs and training opportunities that Wylfa will bring.

“In addition, Wylfa will help our local economy by making businesses, especially those in the thriving hospitality sector less dependent on seasonal tourism.

“My Dad worked at the first Wylfa power station and I am determined to continue the legacy for the future generations on Ynys Môn.”
