Event to encourage women in business

-

A BUSINESS and networking event aimed at increasing the number of women entrepreneurs on Anglesey is set to be launched.

Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie has teamed up with local female entrepreneurs and networkers to stage the island’s first Make It Your Business event next month.

Started by Alison Cork, champion of female entrepreneurs, in 2018, Make It Your Business offers help, networking, inspiration and support for women who want to start their own business.

As a result of Covid regulations, this inaugural event featuring three inspirational speakers will take place online on October 9. Women from across Anglesey are invited to register to attend the free event – whether they are already in business, planning their business or just dreaming of what could be.

On the launch of Make It Your Business in Anglesey, Ms Cork said: “I can’t wait to see local female-led business flourish as a result.”

Virginia Crosbie added: “I know that there are hundreds of women on Anglesey who have great ideas for running their own businesses, but often they struggle to make progress because of a lack of support, knowledge or confidence.

“Make It Your Business has helped hundreds of women to overcome those hurdles and I know it will help many on the island achieve their dreams.”

It will launch on October 9 at 4.30pm via a Zoom link. Go to makeityourbusiness.co.uk and click on the Events tab or contact Bethan Davies at bethan.davies@parliament.uk.
