Bags and buckets full of drugs found

WHAT POLICE DISCOVERED IN HOUSE RAID

A“SIGNIFICAN­T quantity” of drugs were discovered after police carried out a raid at a house on Anglesey.

Officers found bags and buckets which appeared to be filled with Class A and Class B drugs following the raid in the Llanfairpw­ll area last month.

The drugs, which are believed to be cocaine, heroin and cannabis, were found in a house on Thursday, February 18.

A 51-year-old man from the Llanfairpw­ll area was arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply.

A second man aged 47 was arrested at another address.

Both men were interviewe­d in relation to the seizures and later released under investigat­ion, with police stating that enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Andy Davies said: “This is a significan­t seizure; these drugs would have made a lot of criminals a lot of money at the expense of the harm they would have caused to our communitie­s, so it’s immensely satisfying to have seized them before they were supplied on the streets of Anglesey and Gwynedd.

“The operation was a fast moving and dynamic situation which involved CID detectives working with uniformed colleagues to ensure that the suspects were quickly arrested and evidence secured.

“North Wales Police is committed to targeting and dismantlin­g criminal gangs who pose the greatest threat to the public, and whose damaging influence stretches throughout Wales and beyond.

“The key to our success is working closely with the local community, and this seizure of a significan­t amount of drugs, two men this.”
