POLICE ISSUE RENEWED APPEAL AFTER HIT AND RUN DEATH

-

POLICE have issued a renewed appeal for information five months after the death of a man in a hit-and-run.

Officers say they want to trace the driver of a white Ford Fiesta who may have “vital information” about the incident on Anglesey.

On Friday, February 19, Stuart Farnell died in an incident on the A5025 between Valley and Llanynghenedl. Despite the efforts of members of the public who stopped to help, the 38-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an initial appeal, a local person contacted police and was arrested. A vehicle was also seized.

The family of Mr Farnell, who was from the Stockport area, said he was a “much loved father, son and brother”. Described as a person who “never failed to make you smile”, he left a daughter, Payton, who had lost “her best friend, the best dad in the world”.

In a statement, the family said: “His loss is devastating and has caused wounds that won’t heal.

“To lose a loved one in such a way is an indescribable pain. We are all devastated by his loss. His parents and daughter are broken.”

North Wales Police (NWP) have issued details of the vehicle they now want to trace. It is a white Ford Fiesta, mk7 or mk8 model Fiesta (2013-2017 or 2017 to present).

It was travelling along the A5025 towards the Valley traffic lights at about 10.19pm.

The NWP Anglesey team said: “If you were the driver of the car, or were a passenger in the car, please contact us.”

They should contact the police on 101, quoting number Z023761.
