There’s a lot we can do on this island in push for zero carbon... and there’s a lot we can offer

- With Ynys Môn MS Rhun ap Iorwerth

MAE’N fis Tachwedd bellach, ac ar drothwy’r uwch gynhadledd COP26, mae’n gyfle i ni feddwl o ddifrif am yr hyn yr ydym angen ei wneud er mwyn taclo newid hinsawdd. Mae’n gyfle i arweinwyr ddangos gwir arweiniad, a hynny ar frys. Os ydyn ni am weld newid go iawn yn digwydd o ganlyniad i’r uwch gynhadledd hon - mae angen i’r arweinwyr hynny ddod â’r argyfwng newid hinsawdd i dop eu rhestrau o flaenoriaethau.

Gallwn gynnig cymaint o ran cynhyrchu ynni di-garbon ym Môn, ac mae’r agenda honno yn bwysicach nac erioed. Rhaid cynnig mwy o opsiynau i bobl adael eu ceir gartref a defnyddio trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus neu deithio llesol.

Dyna pam rwy’n croesawu gwaith ymchwil allai arwain at ailagor lein reilffordd i Amlwch gyda llwybr aml ddefnydd wrth ei ymyl. Byddaf yn parhau i wthio am fuddsoddiad yn yr isadeiledd sydd ei angen ar gyfer hybu cerbydau trydan hefyd, ac i ddatgarboneiddio cartrefi.

A byddaf yn parhau i annog tyfu coed a hybu bioamrywiaeth – mae’r argyfwng hinsawdd angen cael ei daclo ar sawl ffrynt gwahanol.

Mae’n wythnos brysur i mi yn y Senedd, yn cynnwys arwain dadl fydd yn lansio apêl am dystiolaeth gan bobl ifanc am y rhwystrau maen nhw wedi/yn ei wynebu i gael mynediad at wasanaethau iechyd meddwl.

Mae iechyd meddwl pobl ifanc yn un o fy mlaenoriaethau i. Un o bwyntiau ar agenda Plaid Cymru yn yr etholiad diwethaf oedd y cynllun i gael ‘One-Stop Shops’ ar hyd a lled Cymru.

Rwy’n dal yn credu y gall hynny fod yn rhan o’r ateb o ran ei gwneud yn haws i gael mynediad at gefnogaeth lles a iechyd meddwl cyn i broblemau droi’n rhai difrifol.

Rwy’n gobeithio y bydd yr apêl hon yn ysgogi pobl ifanc a mudiadau ieuenctid hyd a lled Cymru i rannu eu profiadau am broblemau iechyd meddwl a’r gwasanaethau sydd ar gael - neu ddim ar gael - ar draws Cymru.

Byddaf yn lansio holiadur ar fy llwyfannau cyfryngau cymdeithasol, yn annog i bobl rannu eu profiadau nhw wrth geisio cael cymorth iechyd meddwl. Rwyf am wybod ydi pobl yn ymwybodol o le i ddod o hyd i gymorth iechyd meddwl - rhywbeth ddylai fod pawb yn ei wybod, boed yn dioddef o broblemau iechyd meddwl neu beidio. Byddaf yn adrodd yr ymatebion yn ôl i’r Llywodraeth.

WE’RE now in November, and the COP26 summit: it’s a chance for us to seriously consider what we need to do to tackle climate change. It is an opportunity for leaders to show real leadership, needed urgently. If we want to see real change happen as a result of this summit - those leaders need to bring the climate change crisis to the top of their list of priorities.

We can offer so much to zero carbon energy production on Anglesey, and that agenda is more important than ever. People need to be offered more options to leave their cars at home and use public transport or active travel. That’s why I welcome research that could lead to the reopening of a railway line to Amlwch with a multi-use route next to it. I will continue to push for investment in the infrastructure needed to promote electric vehicles as well, and to decarbonise homes. I will continue to encourage tree growing and biodiversity - the climate crisis needs to be tackled on many different fronts.

It’s a busy week for me in the Senedd, including leading a debate that will launch an appeal for evidence from young people about the barriers they have / are facing to accessing mental health services. Young people’s mental health is one of my priorities. One of the issues on Plaid Cymru’s agenda in the last election was the plan to establish ‘One-Stop Shops’ across Wales. I still think that can be part of the solution in making it possible to access welfare and mental health support before problems become serious. I hope this appeal will inspire young people and youth organisations across Wales to share their experiences of mental health issues and the services that are available - or not available - across Wales. I will be launching a questionnaire on my social media platforms, encouraging people to share their experiences of accessing mental health support. I want to know if people are aware of where to find mental health help - something everyone should know whether they have mental health problems or not. I will report the responses back to the Government.
