POLICE MAKE DISPERSAL ORDER AFTER AMLWCH AREA‘ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR’
POLICE slapped a dispersal order on an area of Anglesey, following incidents of anti-social behaviour and harassment.
It came into force on Friday afternoon at 3pm until 3pm on Sunday, covering the Amwlch area, including Bull Bay, Penysarn, Twercelyn and Pengorffwysa (map inset).
North Wales Police (NWP) said the move comes following incidents “of antisocial behaviour and harassment in recent days”.
It meant any individuals or groups asked to leave the area by a police officer must do so immediately.
If they returned or disobeyed they could be arrested – or at the very least returned to their home address.
A statement by NWP Anglesey said: “In order to combat incidents of anti-social behaviour and harassment in recent days, a dispersal order under section 35 of the ASB Crime & Policing Act 2014 will be in force from 3pm on Friday afternoon (19/11/2021) until 3pm on Sunday afternoon (21/11/2021) in and around the Amlwch area (including Bull Bay, Penysarn, Twercelyn and Pengorffwysa).
“When a section 35 is in place, a constable in uniform may direct a person who is in a public place in the locality specified in the authorisation to leave the locality and to not return to the locality (or part of the locality) for the period specified.
“This is a proactive power used by the police to keep people safe and we urge communities to work with us and report any information.
