LISTED MANSION, HOUSES, PRIVATE BEACHES AND 600+ ACRES OF LAND – YOURS FOR £7.75MILLION
AN Anglesey estate that includes a mansion house and beaches has come on the market for the first time in 70 years.
The Bodior Estate at Rhoscolyn is set in more than 600 acres, with an 11-bedroom, Grade Ii-listed country house, farmhouses, cottages and beaches, including a private cove with a stone beach hut.
As expected, it comes with a hefty price tag. It is on the market with Savills for £7.75m for the whole package, although it could also be sold in a number of lots. This is the first time it has been put on the market since the 1950s.
The estate dates back to the 16th century, created by descendants of a Welsh clan leader Llywelyn Aurdorchog of Ial in Denbighshire.
By the early 17th century, the family had adopted the surname Owen, and John Owen (d.1702) was probably responsible for the shape of the present house.
Savills said: “The Bodior Estate is an outstanding coastal estate with a diverse income stream from residential, agricultural and commercial lets. Its coastal position, close to the highly desirable Rhoscolyn on Holy Island, means there are endless amenity, leisure and environmental opportunities.
“The area is within the Isle of Anglesey’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and attracts an abundance of wildlife.
“The diverse land types, including productive pasture, rough grazing, wet pasture, rocky outcrops and sand dunes, along with the coast, means there are endless opportunities for delivering environmental benefits and enhancing wildlife. The estate extends to 639 acres.”
