COTTAGE WITHOUT A ROOF, DOORS OR FLOOR COULD BE YOURS FOR £175K

-

A DERELICT cottage located next to the A55 on Anglesey is set to be sold along with the land surrounding it.

Ty’n Coed Bach in Llanbeulan, Gwalchmai may not have a roof, or doors, or windows, or a floor but it is on sale for upwards of £175,000.

That’s because it is located within 8.6 acres of “very high quality land”, according to the estate agents, which runs adjacent to the A55.

The cottage itself, which lies a few hundred feet from the expressway, has been partly renovated but there is clearly a long way to go before it can be used in any capacity.

As things stand, only the stone walls remain.

The cottage is divided into three sections with each section slightly smaller than the one next to it.

It is surrounded by trees but is still visible from the road and makes for a curious sight for drivers who have caught a glimpse on their way past.

The land, including the cottage, has a guide price of £175,000 to £225,000.

It also comes with the option of purchasing the adjoining land in the near future.

The deadline for formal tenders is July 13. For more information visit its Rightmove profile here.

Last year most property sales on Anglesey involved detached properties which sold for on average £330,138.

Terraced properties sold for an average price of £147,848, while semi-detached properties fetched £195,567.

Anglesey, with an overall average price of £244,840, was similar in terms of sold prices to Conwy (£234,456), but was more expensive than Gwynedd (£216,469) and

Denbighshire (£206,890). The priciest area within Anglesey was Llanfaethlu (£686,890) and the least expensive was Caergeiliog (£141,281).

During the last year, sold prices on Anglesey were 5% up on the previous year and 24% up on 2018 when the average house price was £197,007.
