Woman who sexually assaulted boy of 15 is spared prison

- David Powell

A 36-YEAR-OLD woman who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy has been spared jail.

Delyth Davies was accused of committing two counts of sexual assault against him in Llangefni, Anglesey, in 2022.

Davies, of Maes Meurig, Gwalchmai, was also alleged to have incited the boy to engage in sexual activity in Llangefni on the same date. She was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday.

The assault charges relate to “intentionally touching a boy aged 15 and that touching was sexual when he did not consent and you did not reasonably believe that he was consenting”. The boy cannot be named, to protect his anonymity.

Davies was given a nine-month jail term, suspended for 24 months, for the sexual assault. The other count is to lie on the file, as is the allegation that she incited a boy aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.

Davies, whose more recent address in court documents was given as Talwrn Road, Llangefni, was also sentenced for 12 months, suspended for 24 months, for threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place.

This will run consecutively to the nine-month suspended sentence, making a total of 21 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.

The judge, Her Honour Nicola Saffman, also made an indefinite restraining order to prohibit Davies from contacting her victim.

She must wear an alcohol abstinence monitoring tag for 120 days and do 35 days of rehabilitation activity.

Davies must keep to a six-month curfew between 10pm and 6am and report to police at certain times for 10 years.

She must also pay a £156 victim surcharge.
