St Andrew’s Parish Church:

-

We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Susan Niven, of the Barrhead Salvation Army, for collating and editing the Church News page over recent years. Enjoy your well-earned ‘retirement’ Susan.

Our service on Sunday, April 28, will be at 11am, led by our minister Tim Mineard.

All are welcome to join us. We serve tea and coffee after all services and hope those attending will stay for a chat. All services can be watched online for four weeks afterwards. Junior Church sees children (age three and upwards) come in for the start of the service and then leave for their own worship. Our Wednesday WoW services are in the Westbourne Room at 11am. All are invited.

Our Guild resumes in September. Our Memory Lane group meets on Thursday, May 2, from 2pm to 4pm, in our community hall and those with memory challenges are welcome for afternoon tea.

Our community hall is available to hire for meetings and events. All our youth organisations meet in the church and community hall. The Boys’ Brigade has stopped for a break. Full details of times and places for other youth groups are available at the church and on our website at www.barrheadstandrewschurch.org.uk.

Our Scout group will host a ‘soup lunch’ on Saturday, April 27, from 11am to 2pm in the community hall. Tea, coffee and cakes will also be served. Tickets cost £5. Our house groups meet on Monday and Wednesday nights and Tuesday afternoons. Full details are on the website.

We run a ‘soup club’ on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, with the next gathering on April 25. A free bowl of soup and a chat can be enjoyed in the community hall between noon and 2pm. As reported in last week’s Barrhead News, we have welcomed Graham Currie as our new youth and community worker at St Andrew’s Church. Graham will be contacting other organisations in the town to extend our mission in Barrhead. Our website and Facebook account contain information about our church, its activities and personnel. You can also sign up for our online news ‘ The Inside Look,’ which can be sent to your email. Information about this is on the church website. Please contact Tim if you require any pastoral care.

We host ‘Singing for the Brain’ in our cafe on Mondays, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

Our Home League group is from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on Tuesdays. The toddler group is on Monday and Wednesday mornings but, at present, there are no spaces. Our knitting/crafting group will meet on Thursday, May 2, from 1.30pm to 3pm. Newcomers are welcome. Call Susan on 0776 389 1895 for more details.
