Example 1
This exercise uses ghost notes and consists of eighth-note triplets played with the thumb and first and second finger pops. In the first two bars, the E-string is slapped, and this is followed by pops on the A and D-strings. In the third and fourth bars, the A-string is slapped and is followed by pops on the D and G-strings. Popping with one finger after the other may feel a little unusual at first, so you may need to work on this for a while in order to get it to sound smooth and natural. I recommend getting comfortable with this exercise before moving on.
