£350 fine after theft at garage

A 44-year-old man has been fined £350 for theft, causing damage and using threatening behaviour at an Esso garage on London Road, Bath. Paul Newman, 44, of Fairfield Park, Bath, was fined £30 for stealing a can of lager and four pints of milk at the Esso garage. He was also fined £100 for causing damage to the garage and a further £220 for using threatening or abusive language or behaviour towards a person and a police officer. Newman appeared at Bath Magistrates’ Court on August 8 and pleaded guilty to the offences which happened on August 5. The man’s guilty plea was taken into account when the sentence was being imposed.
