Let the festival be-gin!

-

Whether you are be-gin-ning your love affair with the juniper berry drink or are a gin aficionado this is one festival you won’t want to miss. Gin fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of gins from the UK and overseas during an 11-day festival at The King of Wessex. The pub, in James Street West, Bath, will be serving gins from Japan, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Italy, as well as gins produced in the UK from Friday, August 17 to Monday, August 27. There will be numerous award-winning gins among the selection as well as a choice of flavoured gins including the curiously named Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin and Monkey 47. Pub manager, Stacie Greenwood, said: “The majority of gins in the festival have not been available in the pub beforehand and I am looking forward to serving them. “The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that our customers will enjoy trying the superb range of gins that we have on offer.” The gins will range in price from £2.85 to £4.35 (single measure) and include a free mixer. All of the gins will be served in a Copa de Balon glass, bulbous in shape and perfect for drinking gin and tonic. Tasting notes on all of the gins will be available in the pub.
