STOP the clock. I’m not ready for autumn, it’s only August! summer holidays are in full swing and we should still be making Ribena lolly ices and fishing flies out of the padding pool. But fashion waits for no woman and the september issue mags are out, which means the new season can’t be stopped. Rihanna is the cover star of British Vogue’s “Big Fashion issue”. Taking no chances, the shoot was personally styled by editor Edward Enniful and features the Barbadian beauty sporting pencil-thin, drawn-on eyebrows.. While the rest of world is still plastering on serums to recreate Brooke shields-style brows, it’s only right the style setters at Vogue should throw us a curve ball. And it appears skinny brows aren’t the only blast from the past being resurrected this season. sex and the City fans will remember the Christian Dior saddle bag with its iconic ‘D’ swing charm. One of the most recognisable “It” bags of the 90s, it has been revived for 2018 and is available on Dior.com, a snip at £2,350. If, like me, you’re looking for

a new season update without the thousandpound price tag then pick up a belted coat – in fact, add any coat to your wish list. Undoubtably useful in an autumn/winter season, this year the coat is being lauded as THE pick of the season. No precariously balancing your coat on your shoulders this winter though, ‘robing’ is out, wearing your coat with arms in the sleeves and buttoned up is in. I know, fashion is C-R-A-Z-Y isn’t it? Finally the real nail in summer’s coffin: boots. No coral-painted tootsies needed here, I’m talking closed-toe, chunky heel, zipped-up ankle boots. I will leave Gucci’s Journey boots – a kind of trainer/hiking boot hybrid – to the truly fashion forward. What’s on your new season wish list?
