Hyundai unveils N-line prices

HYUNDAI has announced prices for its new dressed up i30 N Line cars which come with the same looks as the hot hatch model. The four-car range will start from £21,255 and top out at £24,455 for a car in N Line+ trim which includes heated front seats and steering wheel, LED headlamps, advanced technology and a seven-speed dual clutch auto transmissi­on. All versions are powered by Hyundai’s 1.4-litre, 140ps turbo petrol engine which is claimed to be good for 48.7mpg for a six-speed manual and 49.6 for the auto. Emissions are rated at 133 and 129g/km. The N Line i30s look similar to the high performanc­e N vehicles with similar bumpers, a twin exhaust and 18-inch alloys while inside there’s sports seats and a leather steering wheel and gear lever identical to those in the hot model. They also have an uprated suspension and braking system. Performanc­e data for the N Line cars is 0 to 60 in 8.9 seconds for the manual with the auto taking 9.2 while top speeds are 130mph and 127 respective­ly. As with all i30s, they are fitted with a lane departure warning system, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and hill start assist. Standard technology and connectivi­ty equipment includes an eight-inch touchscree­n display audio with smart device integratio­n and DAB supporting all smartphone systems. The higher grade N Line+ specificat­ion – which costs from £23,255 – offers a touchscree­n satellite navigation with a traffic messaging channel, Mapcare and LIVE Services as a £250 option for motorists. Tony Whitehorn, president and chief executive of Hyundai Motor UK said: “The i30n has had a tremendous reception from both automotive media and our customers since its launch early this year but we understand many customers ‘want the show but don’t need the go.’ – N Line will give customers that balance of looks and performanc­e” The N Line range of vehicles goes on sale on September 3.
